Review of Legacy L8335 1/2-Inch x 50 Retractable Air or Water Hose Reel

My wife and I are avid gardeners and even though we have a drip irrigation system, a hose is always needed in a yard. Yet we both hate having to coil up any type of hose. We even had a heavy duty metal hand wound hose reel with wheels. We hated it.....I had bought and was very satisfied with Legacy's compressed air hose reel in my garage. So I decided to try the water hose reel. I did have a small problem initially with the water hose reel, but the repair was taken care of by the factory, at no cost to me. Now, I have the unit back and it works as reliably as my other Legacy. I strongly recommend this product.

Review of Legacy L8305 3/8-Inch x 50 Retractable Air Hose Reel

I saw this type of reel used in automotive garages and used to say "one day I will get one, when I can afford it...." well, I finally find a very good quality retractable hose reel that I can afford. Do not let the plastic housing worry you, it is strong enough. I mounted mine in the rafters of my garage/workshop and it is a delight to use. It makes the workshop safer since there is no hose on the floor to trip over.
Be careful threading the center hub hose connector. Overall, a very good, practical and affordable unit. I recommend it for the typical DYIer. I am now considering one for the garden hose....

Review of Legacy L8250 Workforce series 3/8-Inch by 50-Feet Enclosed Plastic Air Reel

I recently installed this hose reel and the major problem is that it doesn't layer the hose therefore it stacks on its self and doesn't retract all the way.Sometimes I have to try two or three times to get it retracted.It is a pain.Spend the extra money and get a biger one that layers the hose.

Review of ReelWorks Air Hose Reel with 3/8in. x 50ft. PVC Hose, Model# L816153-P

I received this Air Hose Reel as a birthday present ordered from Amazon.The only problem was that it didn't come with the 1/2" m x 3/8"f NPT reducing adapter in order to connect an air hose line from the compressor to the Reel.I had to spend some more time ordering this part before I could set the Reel up for use.

Review of Legacy L8306 3/8-Inch x 75 Retractable Air Hose Reel

This Legacy L8306 3/8" x 75' Retractable Air Hose Reel is very nice, I am just a guy who likes neet work areas such as my garage and basement, I have a 50' retractable air hose reel from another manufacturer and it is not nearly as nice, I really like the way it retracts the line and reels the hose back and forth so it doesn't get tangled internally, in my garage I had my old unit hard plummed but had to add another piece of galvanized pipe to make up for the short 3' lead, if you can swing it opt for the 75 ft. and not the 50 ft. the extra 25 ft. makes a difference I no longer have to run a second line

Review of Legacy L8603 Heavy-Duty Retractable Air Hose Reel with 3/8-Inch x 25-Foot Rubber Hose

I had a small problem with the supplied air hose 2 weeks after I installed the reel (developed a rather large 'bulge').The warrantee states that the hoses are not actually warranteed, as they are a 'wear item', but I contacted Legacy support (via e-mail) just to see if they could do anything anyway.

I sent them an e-mail Monday morning, and received a response in less than an hour saying they would ship me a replacement and to confirm my shipping address.Monday afternoon I received an e-mail indicating that the part was on it's way- with tracking numbers!!

It's very, very uncommon to receive this level of superior customer service - I would definitely recommend this company and their products!!

The reel seems to be constructed very sturdily, and I expect it to last many years.

Review of Legacy L8611 Heavy-Duty Retractable Air Hose Reel-with 3/8-Inch by 50-Rubber Hose

OK, so I'm a nut: I bought the Legacy 8611 to install in my home garage.It seems very sturdy -- but maybe I'm not giving it the heavy work-out you might, on the bed of a service truck, or overhead some grease bay.(Note: If you're concerned about such things, this model is from China rather than Iowa; nevertheless it seems well-made. I chose the 8611 over Legacy's newer "LevelWind" models even though they're made in the USA and have the hose-leveler feature -- because they are plastic (PP) instead of metal!Also I like the idea of bolting it down to my slab, versus the LevelWind models have rubber feet and a wall bracket.)Though the description doesn't say so, a 3-foot lead-in hose and two fittings are included in the package.Also, the photo is incorrect in respect to the way it was actually packaged: to use it on the floor (as shown), you must unbolt the upper arm and rotate it 90 degrees (tilt it forward).It's no big deal, but just in case you're some kind of wimp who doesn't want to fiddle around with his/her new toys...
